In private ownership.
Gawthorpe Hall is a late 16th century stone encasing of an earlier medieval timber-framed house, originally with an E-shaped plan with projecting wings and central porch. It was purchased in 1596 by Anthony Walker from the Lord of the Manor. This may well be the date of the stone encasing with its many mullioned and transomed windows.
